🌀 Right now, an evolutionary transformation is occurring. Joanna Macy calls it “The Great Turning” and sees it as the essential shift of our time. It involves the transition from a doomed economy of industrial growth to a life-sustaining society committed to the recovery of our world. . ♻️ There are 3 dimensions of The Great Turning: 1) Holding Actions 2) Shift In Consciousness 3) Structural Change . . 1️⃣ ~ {{ Holding Actions }} ~ . This dimension aims to hold back and slow down the damage being caused by the political economy of “Business as Usual.” They include steps we take to raise awareness of the damage being done. Their goal is to protect what is left of our natural life-support systems, rescuing what we can of our biodiversity, clean air and water, forests, and topsoil. Holding actions defend our shared existence and the integrity of life on this, our planet home. . . 2️⃣ ~ {{ Shift In Consciousness }} ~ . This dimension arises from shifts taking place in our hearts, our minds, and our views of reality. At the core of our consciousness is a wellspring of caring and compassion, and this aspect of ourselves can be nurtured and developed. We can deepen our sense of belonging in the world. Like trees extending their root systems, we can grow in connection, thus allowing ourselves to draw from a deeper pool of strength, accessing the courage and intelligence we so greatly need right now. . . 3️⃣ ~ {{ Structural Change }} ~ . This dimension involves a rethinking of the way we do things, as well as a creative redesign of the structures and systems that make up our society. Previously accepted approaches to healthcare, business, education, agriculture, transport, communication, psychology, economics, and so many other areas are being questioned and transformed. Through our choices about how to travel, where to shop, what to buy and how to save, we shape the development of this new economy. ~ ♾ ~ In this time of collective crisis and overwhelm, connecting with your inner artist is indeed, a revolutionary act. Perhaps the most exquisite quality of our humanity is the capacity of our individual and collective imagination to transform reality. To transmute the broken into the beautiful. . And so, as millions of us are being driven into "forced isolation,” it is our moral imperative to listen deeply for the creative invitations amidst the mayhem. . The myth of separation — and all of the belief structures and institutions that perpetuate it — is crumbling. This myth feeds off of our continued denial of creative potential, intuitive capacity, self-sovereignty, inner radiance, and our wholeness. . But here's the most beautiful thing: we each have a choice in all of this. Our economy, our culture, our companies, and our institutions, all exist as a set of stories and agreements that require our active participation. Let us plant both metaphorical and literal seeds, cultivating our internal and external landscapes. There will be educational workshops, sustainable seed planting, guided meditations, intuitive readings, writing reflections and more! . .................................................................................... . 🌿🌀 WORKSHOPS, ACTIVITIES, & OFFERINGS: . ~ @ashley.bonn, Founder of @conscious.growth, will discuss the topic of Biodynamic Gardening and how we can grow healthy plants with the help of the moon and nature's cycles. She will also demonstrate how to make recycled seed planters with paper bag origami. . ~ @drakenyxvision, @conscious.growth’s Board Vice-President and Co-Executive Director, will offer an intuitive tarot reading for the current collective energy, as well as through a mediation that takes us deep into the soil, tapping into the quality of our own personal gardens and the ways we are directly intertwined with the natural world around us. . ~ Morgan Bradshaw (@soul.sovereignty), Master of Social Work Intern, will lead us into a breath work meditation to reset our energy centers and guide us through a Moon Cycle Model as a way to manifest our goals and aspirations for the Spring Equinox. . ~ Evan Gregoire (@farmerevanpdx), Founder of the Portland Seed House (@heirloomseedhouse), will facilitate a seed saving workshop as well as discuss cultural stories of heirloom seeds around the world.
